The Great Midwest Hemp Fest
The Great Midwest Hemp Fest, formerly known as The Great Midwest Marijuana Harvest Protest, is the longest-running cannabis rights protest and festival in the United States. Since 1971, pro-cannabis activists have come together annually in Madison, Wisconsin to let their voices be heard and demand an end to cannabis prohibition in Wisconsin.
Objective
Build a brand new informational site with a focus on user education and engagement that gets WI residents involved in the movement.
Solution
Create digital eye candy that’s easy for users to navigate and view festival details. Skyler implemented high-contrast colors and typography that are hard to miss – after all, The Great Midwest Hemp Fest wants people’s attention.
Highlights: front + center annual festival dates and location, e-commerce capabilities, vendor/sponsor/performer applications, custom form development, email marketing and social media pixel integrations.
About the Project
In 2023, the festival was handed off to new organizers to keep the fire of the movement alive. With the help of younger generations ready to step in, The Great Midwest Hemp Fest sought out a refreshed website to better accomplish their mission – end cannabis prohibion in Wisconsin.
The end result: a high-performance website with extensive functionality, on-page and local SEO optimization, optimized images, and a bold brand identity. The Great Midwest Hemp Fest’s website continues to grow, adding fresh content for attendees, volunteers, and participating partners.
Since building a new web platform for the non-profit, The Great Midwest Hemp Fest has seen over 16k+ site visitors with an average engagement time of 2 minute and 38 seconds. The festival saw over 4,000 attendees in 2023 and expects to see over 10,000 in 2024. Talk about impact.

New York State Children's Asthma Initiative
The NYS Children’s Asthma Initiative is focused on serving NY’s highest asthma burden regions, as defined by high asthma emergency department (ED) and hospitalization rates among individuals aged 0 to 24 and/or regions having a high percentage of NYS total asthma-related ED visits/hospitalizations.
Objective
Build an informational site with a focus on educational resources for children (and their families + caregivers) with asthma to use.
Solution
Using the provided brand guidelines from American Lung Association, Skyler built an 18 page website that allows healthcare professionals, families, and students to access the New York State Children’s Asthma Initiative’s free resources with ease.
About the Project
The NYS Department of Health’s Asthma Control Program is partnering with the American Lung Association through a state-funded contract to implement the NYS Children’s Asthma Initiative. This five-year initiative broadly aims to improve asthma-related health outcomes and quality of life among children with asthma and their families/caregivers living in New York State. With the new grant came a new budget for marketing, and that’s where SHibicki Designs came into the picture. Since April of 2023, Skyler has worked in tandem with the NYS Children’s Asthma Initiative team to provide website training and ongoing support.
The end result: a top-knotch, high-speed website with intuitive navigation that provides accessible resources and training for those in need. The New York State Children’s Asthma Initiative continues to operate and serve the residents in New York State.
Gilles Frozen Custard FDL

Gilles Frozen Custard
Gilles Frozen Custard is a traditional drive-in with a vintage vibe showcasing classic American eats such as burgers, fries, shakes, and sundaes. Original owner, Tom Gilles, began serving frozen custard and Gillieburgers to the Fond du Lac community in June of 1949.
Objective
Capture the nostalgic charm and vibrant energy of the classic 1950’s era while seamlessly integrating modern functionality and user experience. The website will also be optimized for mobile devices, ensuring that users can easily navigate the menu, make reservations, and find event information on the go.
Solution
The new design features a vintage aesthetic with bold, nostalgic colors, and playful typography reminiscent of mid-century diner culture. We pulled out charming archives from the early years to display in honor of their 75th Anniversary. The site is optimized for mobile devices, ensuring that users can easily navigate the restaurant’s expansive menu, order online for delivery, purchase merchandise, and find the restaurant’s hours and location easily.

Back to School Fond du Lac
Back to School FDL is a 501(3)c nonprofit organization that focuses on the children in the local area who need assistance obtaining school supplies for the upcoming school year.
Objective
Redesign a playful, bright, and friendly feeling site that encourages multi-action engagement.
Solution
Pops of color, joyful media, and clear and concise messaging made this site a success. We chose to place front and center call-to-actions on each page, and relevant sections, to encourage involvement from sponsors, volunteers, and fellow donors.
Back to School's Impact on the Fond du Lac Community
Back to School provides school supplies to all children who reside in Fond du Lac county and are eligible for free or reduced lunch, which includes households whose income is at or below 1.85 times the Federal poverty level. In 2023, they served 2,061 students. In the first two weeks of 2024 registration, 2,009 kids signed up, fast approaching their record from last year!
