GENERAL
How important is web design?

It's crucial. Of course I'm biased - this is what I do! But on a serious note, if you're trying to make a positive impression, your website is a non-negotiable tool in your toolbox of success. According to Forbes, about 57% of people won't recommend a business with a poorly designed website. In the digital age, your website is everything and without it - you risk losing trust with your consumers.

From my own personal experience (talking to clients, friends, family, etc.) - almost everyone stated they will leave a website in less than 10 seconds if it loads slow, looks phony, or is too tough to read. First impressions are everything!

What's the difference between website design and website development?

WEB DESIGN is centered around the visuals and usability of a website: think layout, navigation, color palettes, typography, and content. The "fun stuff"

On the contrary, WEB DEVELOPMENT focuses on the functionality of a website; this is how those web design elements actually come to life so website visitors can properly interact with them.

What is responsiveness?

Responsive sites proportionally scale your header, content, and footer (either larger or smaller) to align with the user's screen. Have you ever visited a site where the words trail off the screen? Or the text is too small/large to be legible? In the age of screens (and a gazillion different screen sizes), make sure your web designer builds responsive websites! This ensures that no matter what device your visitor is viewing from, they're going to have a seamless experience.

What is SEO?

SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is a collection of techniques used to enhance the visibility and ranking of your site within organic search results. Organic search stands as the primary means by which users discover your website, so building with best SEO practices in mind is critical for you to be found on the internet.

Absolutely. That's the beauty of the web! We help clients from all over the US, including Wisconsin, Michigan, New York, and more. All of our consultations are virtual, and you will receive a secure client portal link that you can keep track of your project from any location, at any time.

PRICING
How much will my new website cost?

Because websites are subjective to each and every client, the cost of web design varies. Factors of price include:

  • the type of website being built (informational, e-commerce, microsite, etc.)
  • the size of the site being built (pages)
  • the site's functionality (booking capabilities, payment gateways, client portals, directory listings, etc.)
  • if domains/hosting still need to be purchased
  • the type of design (fresh build, re-design, etc.)

However, most projects average between the $2500 - $3500 range, which includes your first year domain and hosting costs. SHibicki Designs offers a free discovery call and quote for all new inquiries. Get yours by starting here.

Do you offer payment plans?

No matter the price of your project, we only require a 50% down payment at the start of your project. The remainder of your balance is due after your website launches. If you need further accommodations, please feel free to ask. We will always try to meet you in a place that works for you. 

Can I contact you to help me make future changes?

If you choose to work with us, the journey does not have to end after your site goes live. We offer affordable website maintenance packages that cover training, page updates, design modifications, technical support, and anything else that you may need covered. Skyler enjoys staying in touch with clients and will always be here for web support, even after your website has been built and launched.

Do you have an hourly rate?

Yes we do. If you're happy with your current website, but want to explore our other services (workflow improvements, CMS set-ups, software integrations, etc.), we use our hourly rate of $50/hour. We will discuss your needs in detail and follow up with a detailed proposal.

CAPABILITIES
Where will my website be built?

We exclusively use two web design platforms - WordPress and Wix Studio. 

Wix Studio is a client favorite because it is one of the most user-friendly web platforms on the market. It allows clients to easily maintain their own site, fire out emails, check analytics, and more, all from one dashboard. It's also one of the most affordable on the market, as well. Win-win!

WordPress is another great platform that we use. It's still very cost-effective, but does tend to be a bit more advanced (and in turn, harder for clients to manage on their own.) WP is great for larger websites that need enhanced functionality and integrations. P.S. Elementor is our preferred theme!

We will discuss both options with you, their price points, and pros and cons of both so you can see the difference. Generally speaking, we will usually get you set up with Wix Studio to keep your costs as low as possible while still delivering all of the solutions needed.

I have an e-Commerce site. Can you help me integrate my Point-of-Sale system to my website?

Do you help with domains and hosting?

We'd actually prefer if you let us take the reins on this! If you've already purchased your domain or hosting plan, no stress. We can easily transfer or point your domain to your new website. But, if you haven't, we will happily take care of domain and hosting purchases for you when we start your project.
